Hi, I’m Fern!
I founded Fern River Studio in 2022 not long after the birth of my daughter, River. Having been a creative director and photographer within my own company, Department Two, for a number of years, I had gained tonnes of experience photographing people, product as place. While I still enjoy working on commercial shoots, I had always dreamed of having my own space in which to capture the everyday beauty of real people.
I found particular joy in documenting some of my own pregnancy and motherhood journey, and became excited by the idea of being able to capture those special moments for others. And so as my maternity leave started to draw to a close, I decided to set up Fern River Studio.
Located among the bustling independent scene of Sheffield’s Division Street, my studio is a calm and airy space where we can chat away over a coffee while I capture the spirit and personality of you and your loved ones, creating memories you can cherish forever.
Specialising in portraiture, family and small brand shoots, I aim to capture the everyday beauty of each individual, moment and product in a natural and timeless way.
While I love keeping things natural and timeless I also like to experiment with different backdrops, lighting techniques, poses and props - so if you have a unique idea you’d like to collaborate on I’d love to hear from you!
